It’s March: Plant “Sasha’s Altai” Tomato

Here’s one way of starting seeds: spread them out on a paper towel and wet them down, keep the seeds moist in a baggie with an opening for some air circulation. Watch the seeds germinate and then plant them in separate cells in seed starting soil. These are Sasha’s Altai seeds — origin is from Siberia. These are good for starting in March in a high altitude like here, in the White Mountains of Arizona.

New years resolutions abound with promises to be healthy and eat right. A study by the American Cancer Society shows working at a community garden helps reduce the risk of cancer and chronic disease through exercise, healthy diet, and friendships.

WMCG is the first recognized community garden in Navajo County, founded in 2010. Our mission is to develop and sustain or garden to grow healthy, organic produc and help educate and feed the community.
